The San Luis Obispo (Calif.) Regional Transit Authority (RTA), the intercommunity bus system that provides public transportation throughout San Luis Obispo County and into Northern Santa Barbara County, launched a new Website (www.RTA4tomorrow.com) as a part of the agency’s planning process.
RTA is currently developing a five-year plan that will serve as a blueprint for delivering more convenient and cost-effective public transportation services to residents and visitors. The new Website will keep the public abreast of progress in the plan’s development and provide an additional platform for the community to provide input.
“For the first time, riders of RTA’s transit services, as well as members of the general public, have the opportunity to discuss their experiences with RTA online, and provide feedback on how the system can provide better service in the future,” said Edward King, regional transit manager for RTA.
"Additionally, surveys for both current riders and non-riders are available in both English and Spanish through the Website. The responses to these online surveys will help RTA to assess its current system and identify the needs of its riders, as well as the needs of the surrounding community.”
A different survey is in development for riders of Runabout and Nipomo Dial-A-Ride services. Website users can join RTA’s mailing list to receive an email notification when the survey comes on line.
Riders and the community can also access to up-to-date notices about the planning process.
A current schedule of dates, times and locations for upcoming public events, such as public meetings, is available through the Website. Online users can also join a mailing list to receive updates on these events and the planning process.
The delivery marks the first car in a 374‑vehicle order and begins the arrival of a new generation of higher‑capacity, more reliable, and more comfortable trains for one of the country’s busiest commuter rail systems.
