WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) reached a deal on a six-year highway funding bill, which would fund highways and federal infrastructure projects for three years, putting the burden on the next Congress to come up with funding for its second half, The Hill reported.

Details of the bill were not released, however, Sen. Boxer said the agreement will be posted Tuesday afternoon on the Internet so lawmakers and the public will have a chance to examine its details.

Without a new bill by the end of the month, the Highway Trust Fund would run out of money for federal projects, however, the House did announce it had reached a five-month extension of the HTF last week. For the full story, click here.
