The University of Wisconsin, Madison is recruiting for a director of transportation services in the Division of
Facilities Planning and Management.
The director leads a department dedicated to providing innovative
transportation solutions to serve the university community, which includes more
than 60,000 faculty, staff and students, as well as one million visitors each
year. The director is responsible for building and sustaining a cohesive,
customer-focused team that provides an array of programs focusing on
multi-modal transportation (pedestrian, transit, bicycle, moped, vehicular).
Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (or higher) from an
accredited institution in planning, public administration or related field, and
a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing large,
complex transportation and parking programs. Candidates must have a proven
record in staff development, financial management, policy development,
strategic planning/implementation, and must be highly effective in building and
sustaining partnerships with campus departments and governmental agencies. This
position requires excellent communication skills, including the ability to
listen and discuss issues with multiple stakeholders representing diverse
interests. The ideal candidate will be innovative, articulate,
customer-focused, collaborative and able to inspire and motivate others.
Experience in a university/hospital setting and Certified Administrator of
Public Parking (CAPP) certification is desirable.
Starting pay is commensurate with experience and includes excellent fringe
