All Aboard America! Holdings Inc., the Denver-based motorcoach company that operates charters, tours and casino shuttles, as well as scheduled routes, recently overhauled its colocation and disaster-recovery solutions to consolidate distributed platforms and update its aging IT infrastructure.
The overhaul follows several acquisitions which expanded All Aboard America!'s operations and IT leadership team. During integration planning, the company realized it needed to fully refresh its information management strategy to best address its emerging and increasingly complex IT infrastructure challenges.
The company worked with hybrid IT infrastructure provider Flexential to better understand its unique requirements and implement future-proof solutions. The All Aboard America! and Flexential teams jointly identified the solutions and strategies to solve the company's biggest IT challenges, including relocating critical operational workloads and implementing a disaster-recovery solution.
"As a large enterprise organization focused on providing excellent customer service, we can't afford to have any of our systems go down," said Terry Kin, CIO of All Aboard America! Holdings. "Companies don't realize the risk they are taking by not regularly revisiting their IT management strategy and making the appropriate adjustments."
After considering several other providers in the Denver area, All Aboard America! ultimately chose Flexential to solve several key challenges, including:
Data relocation and consolidation – Moving critical data to a purpose-built, secure facility was the catalyst of the company's IT strategy overhaul. With Flexential's secure Englewood data center, 100% uptime commitment and 24/7 support, All Aboard America! is set to protect its corporate and customer data.
Implementing DRaaS – By implementing a tailored DRaaS solution, the company ensures that its customer data is secure and that it can make a full recovery in the wake of a disaster.
A hybrid IT strategy – Through the partnership, All Aboard America! has access to Flexential's full portfolio of offerings, including colocation, cloud, disaster recovery, professional and managed services, and security, which it can implement as its business grows and the IT landscape continues to shift.
