American Motor Products (AMProd) partnered with Michelin to bring a unique and first of its kind National Fleet Discount Card designed specifically for the “People Mover” segment of the tire business.

The announcement is the addition of the BFGoodrich Truck and Bus tire line to AMProd’s portfolio of products. This will allow AMProd to compete for the tire business of fleets with the largest buses and motorcoaches on Michelin’s behalf with a full portfolio of Michelin, BFGoodrich and Michelin Re-Tread (MRT) products, as well as Uniroyal for the car and light truck market. AMProd will also be working to make the sales a round trip for Michelin tires by returning cores to be used for retreads with all of its clients.

Originally conceived as a solution for the limousine industry, AMProd partnered with Michelin in 2013 to bring a direct program through Michelin’s Business to Business solution for the stretch limousines, towncars and small buses under its TCAR program. In early 2014, with initial success for small vehicles, Michelin added the Truck program to AMProd’s portfolio to service the larger vehicles in limo and coach fleets, and then in early 2015, added the BFGoodrich and MRT programs.

In the short year and a half of the AMProd National Fleet Discount Card Program, over 400 companies have signed on to participate in the People Mover fleet program. With over 3,000 tires delivered in the first full year, the expectation is to grow significantly in 2015. In addition, AMProd is expanding with an East Coast office opening January 2015 to service its eastern seaboard clients.
