Tolar Manufacturing Company Awarded Multi-Year Contract

Tolar Manufacturing Company announced it has been awarded a three-year contract by Trinity Metro in Fort Worth, Texas, to upgrade bus stops system-wide by designing, producing, and installing thousands of passenger amenities at every bus stop in the service area.  

Along with over 254 Signature Sunset bus shelters that include agency branding advertising panels, Tolar will also provide new Signature Sunset EcoShade 6-ft wide monopole shelters for locations with narrow or limited right-of-way. 

The first 40 shelters, including several 18-ft high capacity Signature Sunset shelters, are scheduled to be installed with the help of certified Tolar installation partner, L.A.W. Contracting of San Antonio, Texas, in October to help celebrate Trinity Metro’s 40th anniversary.

Alstom to Supply Coradia Stream Trains in Germany

Alstom announced it has signed a contract to supply 40 Coradia Stream high-capacity electric multiple units to Nahverkehrsverbund Schleswig-Holstein (NAH.SH), the integrated transport association that organizes the railway passenger transport in Schleswig-Holstein, on behalf of the state. 

The order also includes a full-service package for the trains’ maintenance over a period of 30 years to ensure their seamless availability. 

The contract is valued at close to approximately $990 million. An option to order up to 55 additional trains with a corresponding full-service package is also part of the contract. 

The four-car train sets consist of two double-deck end cars and two single-deck cars. 

They are about 347 feet long and can operate in multiple tractions. The trains have a maximum speed of approximately 99 mph and will be operated in two networks, each with an individual vehicle layout providing 360 and 390 seats, respectively.

ETA Transit Helps Coral Gables Trolley

ETA Transit announced that its longtime transit partner, the City of Coral Gables, FL has added automatic passenger counting (APC) and onboard Wi-Fi Internet access to its fleet of trolleys.

The addition of APCs to its trolleys provides an enhanced, automatic way to track passenger movement and provides improved visibility to the needs of its passengers. These counters easily integrate with their existing SPOT CAD/AVL system and provide accurate counts without the need for manual data collection.

Coral Gables trolley passengers will have access to high-speed internet connections without having to tap into their personal data plans.
