ETA Transit announced that the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority (TARTA) selected its SPOT intelligent transit system to drive its real-time vehicle tracking and rider information systems.

TARTA’s new cloud-hosted SPOT CAD/AVL system delivers a suite of real-time arrival predictions, data collection and analysis, and system management tools. It also will integrate with their existing Motorola radio system, provide digital pre-trip inspection, and include card scanners to authenticate drivers and automatically load work assignments.

“Toledo represents a significant step in the evolution of ETA Transit and SPOT within the transit technology market,” said ETA Transit CEO Nicole Castonguay. “Transit agencies with 150 to 500 vehicles are beginning to realize that they are no longer tied to older, expensive, and server-based on-premises ITS systems. They can cut costs, improve efficiency, and expand capabilities with little impact to their riders and operations.”
