TRC Secures Pilot Contract with California’s Plumas Transit Systems

The Routing Company (TRC) announced it has received a one-year contract from Plumas County Transportation Commission (PTS) to provide on-demand transportation in Plumas County, California.

The new partnership marks TRC’s fifth deployment in California, following those with FAST Transit, Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit, Solano Transportation Authority, and Lassen Transit.

The contract will deploy in a collaborative nature, with TRC providing on-demand service to PTS, supported by Plumas Rural Services (PRS). 

The one-year pilot project intends to assess and explore opportunities for the ongoing expansion of on-demand transit services within the Quincy community, while supporting and complementing existing fixed-route service.

Vicinity Motor Corp. Secures New Order

Vicinity Motor Corp. (Vicinity) announced the receipt of a new purchase order from Autobus La Québécoise for eight Vicinity Classic buses to service the City of Joliette, Quebec.

Per the terms of the supply agreement, Autobus La Québécoise has ordered eight of the Company's 32-foot Clean-Diesel Vicinity Classic buses for delivery in 2024.

Autobus La Québécoise is part of Groupe La Québécoise, which consists of approximately 20 companies offering various types of transportation services, including school bus, municipal, paratransit, shuttle, intercity, charter, helicopter, residual materials pick-up, executive aircraft charter, regional airline service, and aeromedical evacuation. 

The business operates primarily in Quebec, but its service extends into other parts of Canada as well as the United States.

Las Vegas’ Regional Transportation Commission Launches Open Payments

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and Masabi, the company delivering Fare Payments-as-a-Service through its open platform Justride, announced the launch of an open payments solution across RTC’s entire network. 

Las Vegas tourists and local riders can now tap their contactless credit or debit card or mobile device to pay for transit without having to download the RTC’s app or buy a paper pass. 

This solution, delivered in conjunction with Visa, helps provide both convenience and speedy boarding.
