The Mid-Size Bus Manufacturers Association (MSBMA) recognized the top 10 transit authorities with the most buses under 40 feet in their fleet at BusCon in Chicago, September 12.

On hand to present the awards was Past President of the MSBMA and President of Champion Bus John Resnik. Chicago area-based Pace Suburban Bus was the top agency, with more than 1,400 vehicles. On hand to accept the award, during the ceremony, which included a keynote address from American Public Transportation Association President/CEO Michael Melaniphy, was TJ Ross, executive director at Pace.

Additional awardees included Calif.-based Orange County Transportation Authority, Delaware Transit Corp. and Detroit’s Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation.

BusCon has been the most extensive gathering of private and public-sector decision-makers in the bus industry for more than 17 years. This year’s expo featured 61 vehicles and 143 exhibitors on the showfloor, as well as a networking reception at Quay.

BusCon returns to Navy Pier in September 2013.
