Mass. rail to partner with Boston bike share program

Introduced in 2011, under the direction of Boston Mayor Thomas Menino and his “Boston Bikes” program, "Hubway" features 600 bicycles and 60 stations throughout Boston available for 24-hour, three-day or annual rentals.

Massachusetts Bay Commuter Railroad Co. (MBCR) announced a sponsorship of the City of Boston’s “Hubway” bike sharing program. MBCR supports the city’s Hubway system because it is a unique element of the “intermodal” transportation system, ensuring that customers enjoy fully integrate travel throughout the region.

“MBCR is proud to sponsor the City of Boston’s Hubway program,” said MBCR Chairman James O’Leary, “Our sponsorship is part of an effort to make it possible for customers to easily use different forms of transportation together during daily travel.”

MBCR joins a distinguished list of local Hubway supporters, including Harvard University, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Children's Hospital of Boston, Brigham and Woman's Hospital, Fan Pier Boston, Landmark Center, Northeastern, P&G Gillette, Prudential Center, Putnam Investments, Equity Office, The Red Sox Foundation, Seaport Square Boston, TD Garden and the Massachusetts Convention Center Authority.
