Tolar Deliver Bus Shelters to Jacksonville Transit

Tolar Manufacturing Company announced it has delivered 12 Niagara Series bus shelters to the City of Jacksonville, North Carolina.

The shelters are NCDOT-listed and approved meeting the stringent Product Evaluation Program (PEP) state standards for North Carolina.

“Our team has worked hard to design and fabricate shelters that meet and exceed NCDOT’s Product Evaluation Program,” said Scott Williams, business development manager for Tolar Manufacturing Company. “From Jacksonville to Greensboro to Charlotte, Tolar-built NCDOT-approved bus shelters are providing comfort and safety across North Carolina. We’re very proud of this accomplishment.”

Oxa Partners with Beep

Beep Inc. and Oxa recently announced a partnership to deploy vehicles driven by Oxa’s self-driving software product, Oxa Driver.

Marking U.K.-based Oxa’s entry into the U.S. market, the strategic partnership will see Oxa’s autonomy software installed in a variety of vehicle types operated by Beep, from current passenger shuttles to future vehicle platforms. 

The first initiative in the partnership is a fleet of Beep autonomous and electric shuttles driven by Oxa Driver.

Two of the Beep shuttles featuring Oxa software are currently operating at the recently opened SunTrax test facility in Auburndale, Fla.

Lightning eMotors Vans at Zion National Park

Lightning eMotors announced the deployment of two of its Lightning ZEV3 Class 3 passenger vans with the Utah Clean Cities East Zion pilot shuttle program. 

As part of a pilot program that began in 2019, EVZion has developed a zero-emission, electric vehicle (EV) shuttle system to demonstrate the efficiency of electric vehicle transportation in rural gateway communities.

“The opportunity to work with the Utah Clean Cities team and our partners to demonstrate the viability and scalability of all-electric, zero-emission passenger systems aligns perfectly with our mission and vision,” said Nick Bettis, VP, marketing and sales operations, Lightning eMotors. “As the only electrified vehicle provider actively delivering customized, fully electric Class 3 shuttles and a robust range of charging solutions, Lightning eMotors is excited to be part of the EVZion project.”

Voith Turbo North America Breaks Ground on Expansion 

Voith Turbo North America announced that it has broken ground on a $5 million expansion of its workshop in York, Pa.

The expansion will increase the Group Division’s American manufacturing capabilities.

“This expansion is going to allow us to proactively meet our customers’ growing needs now and into the future,” said Ralf Dreckmann, president, Voith Turbo North America.

Voith Turbo will add 10,000 square feet of space to its existing 69,700 square-foot facility already located in York, Pa. 

In addition, 17,000 feet of existing warehouse space will be converted into workshop space for increased manufacturing and service work.
