Transdev North America named Yann Leriche as its new CEO, with responsibility for all Transdev subsidiaries and operations in the U.S. and Canada, effective July 1. The appointment includes contracts for bus, paratransit, streetcar, rail, and light-rail services in more than 200 cities and communities, encompassing a workforce of some 23,000.

Leriche will continue to lead the on-demand (B2C) business lines in the U.S., including SuperShuttle, black car and taxi operations, and B2B businesses focused on airport crew transfers and corporate transportation services. Additionally, he will remain as both Head of global B2C Business Lines and as the leader of the global development of autonomous vehicle activities for the Transdev Group.

Leriche succeeds Mark Joseph, who has served as CEO for the past 16 years overseeing a period of remarkable growth in which Transdev became the largest private sector operator of multimodal transit services in the U.S. Joseph will transition to a new role as global chief development officer for the Transdev Group, focused on enhancing growth worldwide. Both Leriche and Joseph will continue as members of Transdev’s global Executive Committee.

Leriche has extensive experience operating and leading large-scale public transportation businesses around the globe. He previously served as deputy chief operating officer, North American Division, of Transdev in 2012 and 2013.

For the past three years Leriche has served as the global chief performance officer for the Transdev Group, setting and enforcing standards for monitoring and improving operational performance. He also oversaw a variety of corporate services including safety, IT, business development, marketing, and innovation. Recently, he led efforts to secure key strategic partnerships with Renault-Nissan Alliance and, separately, Delphi Automotive, to accelerate the delivery of driverless pods and shuttles to open-road streets and create an autonomous fleet management system to help clients expand their mobility options.
