[Photos] Metro-North Railroad's Fordham Station Renewal

Metro-North's Fordham Station was completely restored with upgrades including a rebuilt northbound platform with double the capacity, a new entrance leading directly to Webster Avenue at 193rd Street and new permanent artwork. These upgrades follow the complete renovation of the historic station building on Fordham Road, which was completed in 2014.

Cuomo unveiled the design features of 1,025 new and reimagined subway cars — including vital enhancements to the exteriors and interiors of regular cars, wider doors, as well as the addition of up to 750 “Open Car End” designed-cars, which will reduce wait times and increase capacity.

[Photos] Building Siemens' first car shell for Brightline train

Brightline, the brand new higher speed train currently under construction in Florida, released images of the first passenger train shell built by Siemens. The 85-foot-long sheel, built by more than 70 employees, will carry 240 passengers. This vehicle is part of Brightline's initial five four-car train sets.

[Photos] cTrain Elevated Mass Transit Concept

The C-train concept, developed by Jacob Innovations, is an automated mass transit mode of elevated lightweight trains with seating room only. The design eliminates need for depots - via capability to travel on upper and lower wheels by switching vertically between tracks and be stored vertically above the tracks. The cTrain system can be built quickly and cheaply with exiting technologies.
