Wilkes Barre, Pa.’s The Martz Group is updating its 205-coach fleet with the delivery of 41 brand new MCI 2018 coaches — 23 MCI D4505s and 18 MCI J4500s.

For its new 2018 models, Martz ordered the programmable interior color lighting, Wi-Fi and power outlets, the new rear window option and comfortable seating for 60 on its new, expansive J4500 coaches.

“We are pleased that Martz has once again turned to MCI and trusts our models for reliability, style and easy service,” said Patricia Ziska, MCI VP, new coach sales. “Their option choices demonstrate their leadership and desire to put passenger safety and comfort first. We’re proud to be able to offer Martz these advances and proud of working with them for nearly 40 years.”

Today, 90% of Martz’s fleet is MCI — the company also operates a smaller van and bus service. Altogether, Martz serves well over a million passengers annually and sees ridership increasing in part due to a new smartphone app that rings up passenger rewards points while eliminating costly and wasteful paper ticketing.

Martz has offered a corporate-wide safety and environmental program for all environments — in the office, in the garage and on the road. The company has dedicated itself to specific rules on idling and moving recordkeeping and passenger service to digital solutions as much as possible.

Martz team members also make regular appearances at MCI Academy’s onsite training center in Louisville, Ky., sending two to three technicians a year for specific hands-on training.

Drivers also qualify for annual bonuses based on safety and idling achievements.
