California’s Long Beach Transit (LBT) announced a partnership with Moovit to provide customers with a mobile app to plan their public and shared transit trips around the city and surrounding areas.

The free Moovit app, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play, combines official information from LBT as well as crowdsourced information to calculate the best route for urban mobility option such as bus, light rail, bikeshare, Uber, and Lyft.

The Moovit app provides customers with real-time arrival information, a live directions feature, and service alerts. The app also incorporates a variety of accessibility features, including optimized screen reading for low vision users, talk-back/voiceover capabilities, identifying wheelchair-accessible routes and stations, and calculating step-free routes. Moovit’s app is also designed with optimized menus and buttons for those with hand-motor disabilities.

LBT customers who are already using the Moovit app will receive these updates and service alerts on their mobile phone.
