The Consortium for ITS Training and Education (CITE) announced a new certificate program geared toward professionals in the advanced transportation field to encourage additional training in ITS systems and traffic engineering and operations. Students have one year to complete five CITE courses to earn their certificate. Each certificate contains three core courses, and students select two additional electives from a choice of four to complete the program. Upon completion, students will receive a certificate from the University of Maryland. CITE courses, available in an interactive web-based format, provide interactivity through simulations, self-study quizzes and jeopardy games, in addition to text-based information. Available courses include: Introduction to Information Technology, Applied Systems Engineering for Advanced Transportation Projects, Corridor Management and Traffic Flow Theory.
