The Florida Marlins will join morning commuters on Miami-Dade Transit's Metrorail during morning rush hour on Feb. 12 to emphasize the importance of public transportation and its positive impact on the environment as part of the Marlins 2010 Caravan for Earth.

Players will ride the entire Metrorail line, stopping at South Miami and Tri-Rail stations before ending their trip at Government Center. Once there, the Marlins will be serving free Cuban coffee courtesy of Café Bustelo. Marlins representatives also will be stationed at the Government Center and at the South Miami and Tri-Rail stations distributing free 1-Day Passes on EASY Tickets to the first 100 fans that stop by that morning.

The Florida Marlins' Caravan for Earth 2010 marks the official kickoff to this year's Florida Marlins baseball season. This year's Caravan is a week full of environmentally-themed community events and appearances that gives fans the opportunity to interact with players, coaches, Billy the Marlin, the Mermaids and the Manatees leading up to the 15th annual Jiffy Lube Marlins FanFest presented by TD Bank at Sun Life Stadium on Saturday, February 13 from noon to 6 p.m.

Also on display at the event will be a new 60-foot hybrid bus that Miami-Dade Transit will be using for the new Dade-Broward 95 Express bus service that operates in I-95's new express lanes.
