Foxx gives Rogoff new DOT post

FTA Administrator Peter Rogoff has been asked to serve as the U.S. DOT's acting under secretary for policy, with FTA Deputy Administrator Therese McMillan named to serve as acting administrator.

Federal Transit Administrator Peter Rogoff was tapped by U.S. Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx to serve as the U.S. Department of Transportation's (U.S. DOT) acting under secretary for policy.

If confirmed by the Senate, Rogoff will succeed Polly Trottenberg, who left to serve as transportation commissioner for New York City.

FTA Deputy Administrator Therese McMillan has been named to serve as acting administrator in Rogoff’s absence.

“We thank Peter Rogoff for his nearly five years of leadership at FTA, where he advanced public transportation throughout the country. His experience will serve our country well as he undertakes the broader transportation policy issues,” said American Public Transportation Association President/CEO Michael Melaniphy in a statement.

“Therese McMillan has been an outstanding FTA Deputy Administrator and has extensive expertise and understanding of public transportation programs,” added Melaniphy. “We look forward to working with her in her new leadership role as acting administrator.”
