GreenPower Motor Co. Inc. delivered its first EV Star all-electric Min–eBus to the Port of Oakland, to be used as an employee and executive shuttle for on–property transportation. The delivery of the EV Star demonstrates the Port’s long-term commitment to an expanded electrification strategy for the Port, their commercial real estate, and Oakland International Airport.

The EV Star is an all–electric, emissions–free, 25-foot bus that seats up to 19 people, with an operational range of 125 to 200 miles on a single charge and a lifetime of 20-plus years. The EV Star can also be configured to accommodate wheelchairs or mobility aids.

Shuttle operations provided by employers to their employees is one of the fastest growing sectors for all-electric buses, providing a unique growth opportunity for the EV Star.

“This delivery represents a milestone where an all-electric bus has been delivered four months after the order. Buses typically have a 12 to 18-month lead time after receipt of order,” said GreenPower President Brendan Riley.
