Green Commuter ordered 100 GreenPower Motor Company Inc. EV Star All-Electric Min–eBuses. The 25-foot EV Star is available in executive and high-density seating configurations with an operational range of up to 150 miles on a single charge and is ideally suited for vanpooling, car-sharing, and shuttle services.
Green Commuter is an all-electric vanpool provider based in California that offers vanpooling, car sharing, shuttle service, and fleet replacement. Currently, Green Commuter’s fleet is comprised entirely of electric vehicles that include Tesla Model X vehicles.
GreenPower presently has over 30 EV Stars in production with initial deliveries commencing in May. GreenPower will be ramping up production to deliver 10 EV Stars per month to Green Commuter starting this summer.
The EV Star seats up to 19 passengers and can be configured with either a Level 2 J-1772 or a CCS DC Fast combo charge system, which allows for optimal flexibility in route planning for any duty cycle. EV Stars can be supplied with Wheelchair lifts to meet ADA requirements. GreenPower will be working with Green Commuter to install the charging infrastructure.
The upgraded system, which went live earlier this month, supports METRO’s METRONow vision to enhance the customer experience, improve service reliability, and strengthen long-term regional mobility.
