IMPulse NC LLC, a leading U.S. manufacturer of overhead contact system (catenary) hardware for the public transportation industry, has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with Utah-based LiveWire Innovation Inc. to sell the LiveWire Cable Fault and Cable Theft Detection module for the North American Transit Market.
The revolutionary LiveWire Mantis™ Monitoring System is the first and only live cable module that monitors energized cables and electrical circuits around the clock. The Mantis uses Spread Spectrum Time Domain Reflectometry technology to see into the cable environment without any interference to the electrical circuit. This system detects, precisely locates and characterizes any change or fault of a cable and alerts the customer wirelessly or over a data network.
IMPulse, a Marmon/Berkshire Hathaway company, manufactures transit hardware for all types of electrified public transit systems including streetcar, light rail, intercity and commuter rail, heritage trolley and electric trolleybus with products in service worldwide.
