NEW YORK — The New York Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) is expected to approve two deals that would give winning bidders control over the advertising space on its Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road train cars, stations and billboards, as well as Long Island buses. Maryland to offer transit job training to vets

Transit officials apologize to discriminated Muslim woman
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Officials from The Rapid bus service in Michigan apologized to a woman who was not allowed to ride one of its buses because she was wearing a traditional Islamic veil.
