MTA expected to approve lucrative ad deals
NEW YORK — The New York Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) is expected to approve two deals that would give winning bidders control over the advertising space on its Metro-North and Long Island Rail Road train cars, stations and billboards, as well as Long Island buses. Maryland to offer transit job training to vets
BALTIMORE — Maryland officials said that they plan to fill open slots in Maryland Transit Administration training classes with military veterans. The courses will cover a range of topics, including bus operations, maintenance training and basic computer skills. For the full story, click here.
Transit officials apologize to discriminated Muslim woman
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Officials from The Rapid bus service in Michigan apologized to a woman who was not allowed to ride one of its buses because she was wearing a traditional Islamic veil.
