Operation Lifesaver, Inc. (OLI) announced it has released five new transit posters in English and Spanish for nationwide use reminding transit riders to make safe choices when traveling on transit and commuter trains.
The posters feature close-up face images capturing transit rider attention with actionable safety advice:
Stay behind the raised marking or yellow line
Wait for trains to stop before approaching
Let others exit before you board
Once on board, stay seated or hold on
No riding bikes, scooters, or skateboards on platforms
“Our new eye-catching transit safety posters are intended for use on trains, in stations, and in communities,” says OLI executive director Rachel Maleh. “Each poster includes a QR code to access our recently released transit safety pledges for adults and children. We encourage everyone to follow these tips and make safe choices when riding transit trains. Together, we can stop track tragedies.”
Maleh noted that the new posters are available on the OLI website as well as to transit agencies to size as appropriate and co-brand with their logos if they choose. Funding for the posters was provided by the Federal Transit Administration.
The FTA said its actions build on its nationwide campaign to make transit systems safer for American families.
