PARIS — Users of public transport in Paris are being confronted by a “shock” information campaign against sexual harassment to “liberate women’s speech” on attacks, persuade witnesses to help, and punish “predators,” The Telegraph reports.
The ads feature scared women clinging to a metro pole surrounded by frightening beasts, such as a bear, a shark, and wolves, which symbolize the men who harass them.
According to surveys, some 87% of female users of public transport say they have been the victim of sexist or sexual harassment, and in some cases rape, and six out of 10 fear they will be attacked.
