At the UMA Expo, held in January in New Orleans, Prevost will debut new safety features and interior enhancements on its coaches integrating the new 2007 EPA-compliant engine. New safety features will include an electronic stability program, which compares computer performance models with the actual movements of the vehicle. This system electronically monitors wheel speed, steering angle, lateral acceleration and yaw to help protect against loss of control and rollover. These vehicles will also be equipped with the new 2007 EPA-compliant Detroit Diesel engine, which will reduce NOx by 55% and particulate matter by 90%. To accommodate the new engine, Prevost engineers reconfigured the interior of the coaches by replacing the conventional restroom door with a sliding door to retain the same seating capacity in its vehicles. Prevost is also offering a new central flip-down monitor for the video system, which can be optimized to 17 inches.
