Rosco Inc. and Safety Vision LLC have settled a patent infringement lawsuit that Rosco brought against Safety Vision and its supplier, the companies announced on Tuesday.
The lawsuit involved Rosco’s patented technology that covers its multiple camera systems and MOR-Vision Mirror/Monitor Combo Backup Camera System, which offers replaceable modular mirror and monitor components, glass reflectivity, and bright imaging with automatic monitor view changes, according to Rosco.
As previously reported, in 2017, Rosco reached a settlement with Rostra, an automotive accessories company, that involved Rosco's patents for its MOR-Vision Mirror/Monitor Combo Backup Camera System.
Rosco’s patents involved in the lawsuit against Safety Vision were U.S. Patent No. 8,624,716, U.S. Patent No. 9,215,429, U.S. Patent No. 9,286,521, U.S. Patent No. 9,319,639, and U.S. Patent No. 9,623,802.
The two companies said that they have now settled the matter “amicably.” Safety Vision has taken a license, and together with its supplier, have agreed not to contest or assist others in contesting the validity or enforceability of Rosco’s patents. In turn, Rosco has dismissed the lawsuit.
