Seon launched NX16, an onboard video surveillance system capable of recording up to 16 high-definition IP camera feeds and up to 12 existing standard-resolution cameras.
The NX16 network video recorder records up to 16 camera views synchronized with audio and vehicle telemetry data for quick incident resolution. The system is capable of downloading marked video via Wi-Fi automatically, or streaming live video on-demand over an optional cellular connection, and features a video protection feature to ensure recording after sudden power loss during an accident.

The NX16 hybrid system supports both standard definition and IP cameras to support the introduction of high-definition camera views as needs and budget dictate.
Hybrid support allows a wide selection of camera options to suit the needs of every fleet. A dual hard drive, fail-safe design supports up to 4 TB of storage capacity for maximum video retention time. Solid-state storage options are also available as an option. The NX16 has been specifically designed for quick and easy IP camera installation, featuring simple plug-and-play technology.
Other standard features include an integrated G-sensor that monitors vehicle inertia against pre-set G-force thresholds, marking events exceeding the thresholds for download and review.
In addition to being backward compatible with any of Seon’s line of standard-definition cameras, the NX16 supports the CHQ8PD low-profile dome and CHW8PD exterior wedge IP cameras. Both offer a vandal-resistant housing and up to 1080p progressive scan resolution. Plug-and-play installation, with power over Ethernet, eliminates the need to run separate power wiring. The exterior wedge also offers an IP67-rated weatherproof housing to protect camera technology against the harshest outdoor conditions.
New versions of Seon’s vMax View playback and archiving software and vMax Commander video management and downloading software support this new system and are backward compatible with legacy Seon DVRs such as the Trooper TL2, TL4, and TL-HD, as well as the Explorer TX8, DX12, and DX-HD.

A two-slot hard drive docking station has been specifically designed to accommodate both the new NX16 hard drives as well as continue to support plug in of existing TL2, TL4, TX8, DX12, and DX-HD hard drives. Only one hard drive docking station is needed to support all video retrieval needs for a Seon-equipped fleet.
