St. Louis Metro testing New Flyer electric bus
The agency has previously tested electric buses manufactured by BYD, Proterra and Complete Coach Works.
ST. LOUIS — Metro is testing its fourth electric bus as it continues to take a closer look at the advancements, capabilities and benefits of electric bus technology, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported.
The most recent bus being tested by Metro is a New Flyer. The agency has previously tested electric buses manufactured by BYD, Proterra and Complete Coach Works.
The New Flyer bus being tested is 40 feet long and can operate on a single charge for about 100 miles. It is powered by one 160-kilowatt Siemens electric motor that takes about four hours to charge. For the full story, click here.
