Transdev North America announced that Rob Mowat has been hired to the position of sr. VP, business development.

Mowat brings more than 25 years of expertise and industry relationships to the Transdev team. He has served the last seven years in progressive roles at Nova Bus where he inspired market expansion strategies, reorganization efforts and new product launches. In addition to managing his own consulting firm, Mowat's background in transit business development stretches back to 1990, with positions at DAVE Transportation/ Laidlaw Transit Services and Coach USA Transit. He sits on the Board of Directors for the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and the South West Transit Association. He will report directly to Dick Alexander, who has been promoted to executive VP, business development.

“Rob’s background, knowledge of transport trends and relationships inside the industry will be a crucial part of strengthening our current contracts and securing new contracts across North America,” Alexander said. “Rob is well respected and admired across our industry. His passion and ability to find innovations and solutions will be a key asset to the Transdev team. Most importantly, he holds an outstanding business development track record helping clients achieve their strategic visions and growth goals.”

Mowat graduated from the University of California at Davis with a B.A. in Rhetoric and Communications. He has also completed the Senior Management Decision Making and Mentor Program in the Transit Industry from George Mason University, Leadership APTA, and the Value Selling and Customer Management course with the Volvo Sales Academy.
