Troman Industries Inc. signed an asset purchase and IP license agreement with Collins Aerospace, an RTX business.
The agreement allows Troman to acquire certain assets and access technology necessary to produce and sell Commercial Ground Vehicle (CGV) products formerly provided by the Collins Kidde Fire Protection Systems business, based in Wilson, N.C.
Announcement Impact
The strategic move allows Troman to further expand its market presence in the transit bus industry. Under the terms of the agreement, Troman Industries will assume responsibility for the Collins CGV order book, continuing to offer and support these products within the on-highway vehicle market.
“We have long represented Kidde Fire Protection Systems through our partnership with Metro Transit Services,” said Tony Cunnane, CEO of Troman Industries. “We’ve always believed their products are of the highest quality, and when the opportunity to enter into this agreement presented itself, we saw a great opportunity to step in and continue offering these reliable solutions to the market.”
The transition is expected to take place throughout the first quarter of 2025, with Troman Industries planning to take inventory from Collins' Wilson, N.C., location and begin handling shipping operations by April 1. This will ensure that customers continue to receive timely and reliable service without interruption.
