Via Metro STL, which is powered by Via, extends the reach of the region’s Metro Transit system by providing riders with affordable and convenient first-mile/last-mile connections between destinations in St. Louis County. Via Metro STL service debuted in two service zones in North St. Louis County and South St. Louis County in June 2020. The service was expanded to a new service zone in West St. Louis County in November 2021 due to its popularity and to extend transit service to healthcare and employment destinations near Interstate 64.

With Via Metro STL, riders can hail a Via Metro STL vehicle directly from their smartphone with the Via app or by calling Via to book a ride. Riders can travel anywhere within each service zone, including several Metro Transit Centers and MetroLink Stations, for just $2 a trip or $3 to combine Via with Metro Transit. Wheelchair-accessible vehicles are also available to riders through Via Metro STL.

“Via Metro STL is a great complement to public transit, extending the reach of Metro Transit to operate deeper in the community to destinations outside of our traditional service area. And we are very excited for the success and popularity we have seen with Via Metro STL over the last two years,” said Charles Stewart, executive director of Metro Transit. “We are regularly evaluating our services to ensure we are meeting the needs of our riders as their travel patterns evolve. We believe that microtransit options like Via Metro STL, in combination with MetroLink and MetroBus, can have an important role in the future of transportation in the St. Louis region.”
