YO!, the new bus line providing non-stop service between New York and Philadelphia, has expanded to Boston, launching six daily roundtrips between New York's Chinatown neighborhood and Boston South Station on March 14.

The bus service, which launched December 2012, offers on-board amenities such as a guaranteed seat, extra legroom with comfortable leather seating, free Wi-Fi and power outlets.

YO!, jointly operated by Greyhound and Peter Pan Bus Lines, offers a safe, modern and affordable travel solution for customers in New York and Boston who like the convenience of a Chinatown stop in the Big Apple, according to a company statement.

"Since we launched YO! last December, we've seen a tremendous response from the community and customers, so we're excited to bring this exceptional service to Boston," said Dave Leach, president/CEO of Greyhound Lines Inc.

The name YO! is derived from the pronunciation of the Chinese word that means "to protect" and also serves as an enthusiastic greeting in today's culture.

"YO! provides a fun and safe travel experience for our customers, using environmentally friendly buses and the most highly trained professional drivers in the industry," said Peter Picknelly, chairman/CEO, Peter Pan Bus Lines. "We're committed to ensuring that customers can sit back and relax on YO!, knowing they'll get to their destination safely, well-rested and on time."

In New York, YO! operates on Pike Street between E. Broadway and Division on the median, where a staff member will be on site to guide the loading and unloading of customers. There also is an assigned boarding system to ensure an orderly boarding process onto YO!'s high-efficiency, environmentally friendly buses.
