NY MTA completes 4th phase of Wi-Fi subway service

Transit Wireless has initiated design and construction work on the fifth phase of the seven-phase project to wire all 279 underground MTA stations. When completed, Phase 5 will bring another 37 stations online by mid-2016, including the first stations in Brooklyn.

MBTA to unveil winter plan, approves PTC contract

MBTA GM guarantees system's winter readiness

At a site in Dorchester, Frank DePaola showed Gov. Charlie Baker and reporters the new third rail that workers have been laying down on the above-ground portion of the Red Line’s Braintree branch. The new third rail has a small curvature on its top, so there won’t be a build-up of ice and snow that caused problems for trains last winter.
