PHILADELPHIA — NBC 10 reported that Will Entriken, a software developer and Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) rider, frustrated by late arrival times, created an app that provides what he said are more realistic arrival times than the published schedule.

The app collects SEPTA regional rail location data every minute, for 13 regional rail lines. He told the news outlet that that provides a more realistic train schedule for both the agency and its passengers.

Jim Fox, SEPTA’s Chief Control Center Officer, told NBC 10 that there are several factors that are considered when adjusting the schedule, such as points where several rail lines converge and shared lines with Amtrak. For the full story, click here.
