LIT Announces Five New Board Members During 10-Year Milestone

Latinos In Transit has announced the election of five new members to its board of directors.

Latinos In Transit (LIT) has elected five new members to its board of directors as the organization approaches its 10th anniversary in 2026. The additions increase representation from multiple regions and sectors within the transportation industry.

Board Adds Public And Private Sector Representation

LIT said the board now includes seven public-sector representatives (41%) and eight private-sector representatives (59%).

The organization said it will continue work tied to its 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, including workforce development programs, leadership training opportunities, mentorship, education, and industry engagement.

“We are expanding our board leadership capacity with an experienced group of professionals,” said Eugenio Bonet, LIT board president.

Newly Elected Board Members

  • Niorka “Nio” Mendez (Massachusetts, Public Sector), deputy administrator, MeVa Transit

  • Juan Higuera (Washington, Public Sector), executive strategic advisor, Sound Transit

  • Christian G. Londono (Florida, Private Sector), senior customer success manager, ETA Transit

  • Jerry Bustamante (Texas, Private Sector), associate director of business development, RS&H

  • Maria Cristina Hallner (Louisiana, Private Sector), marketing director, WeDriveU

LIT also listed its executive officers as Eugenio Bonet, president; Rosa Medina-Cristobal, treasurer; Megan Perrero, vice president; and Anthony Valdiosera, secretary. Members-at-large include Tony Mercado, Dietter Aragon, Ivan Rodriguez, Lina Aragon, Monica Tellez-Fowler, and Jose Hernandez.
