APTA TRANSform & Expo wraps up today in Orlando, Fla. On the docket for Wednesday is a Keynote from Chef Jeff Henderson and your last chance to see all the products on the show floor.

The final day of the 2021 APTA TRANSform Conference kicks off with a General Session and Keynote. The keynote message will be delivered by Chef Jeff Henderson. Henderson is an award-winning American chef, New York Times bestselling author, philanthropist, TV personality, and international speaker.


Following the General Session, Becoming an Equity-Fluent Leader is scheduled from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

Other sessions scheduled from 9:30-10:45 a.m.:

  •         Designing and Building Resiliency into our Transit Infrastructure Networks.

  •         Now Hiring! Successful Approaches to Your Transit Worker Shortage.

  •         Reimagining Transit Public Safety and Security.

  •         Seizing the Moment: New Opportunities to Advance High-Performance Rail.

  •         The Evolution of Zero-Emission Technology and How to Manage It

The next round of sessions are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.


The first session listed at this time is Equitable Transit-Oriented Development. Panelists will present case studies on building transit-oriented communities with equity as an essential outcome.
The session will be moderated by Jeffrey A. Parker, GM and CEO of Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA).


Collie Greenwood, chief of bus operations at MARTA, will be one of the session’s panelists.

From Volume to Value: Measuring and Communicating the Value of Transit Beyond Ridership – Part 2 features a discussion on rethinking how transit’s value is measured and communicated to customers, the general public, and business and political leaders.


Passenger Rail Shared-Corridor Best Practices will highlight some of the best practices to work with freight and other host railroads to encourage faster realization of capital projects to increase capacity.


The Sustainable State & Local Transit Funding and Innovative Financing Post-Pandemic session will talk about how forward-looking strategies to help assure the ongoing financial health of public transportation can be replicated in your own community.

Panelists from the Transit’s Response to the Societal Issue of Homelessness session will discuss how transit agencies  are engaging their employees and regional stakeholders and partnering with social service and charitable organizations to develop strategies to provide support to those who need them.


Speakers for the session include Kenneth A. Divers, Flora M. Castillo, James Andrew Cook, and Laura J. Grams.


The EXPO Advisory Committee session is the final one scheduled for the Expo. This session will last from 12-1:30 p.m.
