[IMAGE]infraconsult.jpg[/IMAGE]InfraConsult's senior professional staff has been involved in Honolulu transportation improvements for more than 20 years, and the firm is proud to currently serve as the program management support consultant for Honolulu's High-Capacity Transit Corridor Project. The fruition of many years of study, this project will implement high-capacity transit in a 20-mile corridor between East Kapolei and Ala Moana on the island of Oahu, with future extensions to Waikiki and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

The firm serves as an integrated extension of city staff, providing an overall management team to supervise a general engineering consultant, designers, and contractors involved in developing more than 30 construction and procurement contracts to implement the project.

InfraConsult supplements the city with rail transit experience in technical, managerial and other professional services, including project management; project control; contracts procurement/administration; preliminary engineering; final design and construction. InfraConsult assists in coordination and interface with local and state agencies and develops agreements for and oversees utility relocation activities. The firm also shares responsibilities for activities that support FTA grant prerequisites.

The project is intended to provide faster, more reliable public transportation service than can be achieved with buses operating in congested mixed-flow traffic. It will provide reliable mobility in areas of the corridor where people of limited income and an aging population live and will serve rapidly developing areas of the corridor. The project will also provide additional transit capacity and an alternative to private automobile travel, as well as improve transit links within the corridor.
