Since receiving certification from the FTA’s Altoona Bus and Research Center in January 2009, the Spirit of Mobility low-floor kneeling bus by ARBOC Mobility LLC is gaining market acceptance, according to company officials. In recent weeks, ARBOC Mobility has been awarded numerous contracts throughout the U.S. and Canada. One bus has even made its way to Guam.

Some other recent multi-bus contracts are:

National Bus Sales and Leasing for Citibus in Lubbock, Texas
Hoglund Truck and Bus for St. Cloud, Minn.
Northern Bus sales for Nashua, N.H.
Holland Bus Sales for Holland, Mich.
EK Coaches for the State of Oregon
Holland Bus sales for Isabella County, Mich.
National Bus Sales and Leasing for Midland-Odessa, Texas
Holland Bus Sales for South Haven, Mich.
Holland Bus Sales for Cadillac, Mich.
National Bus Sales and Leasing for Johnson City, Tenn.
Arizona Bus Sales for Bullhead City, Ariz.

Orders for the above contracts have been received, giving ARBOC Mobility a substantial order backlog. “As evidenced by the above contracts in such a short time span, the Spirit of Mobility bus is gaining tremendous market penetration and acceptance,” said ARBOC President Jim Bartel.

The Spirit of Mobility bus is the first true low-floor kneeling bus with rear-wheel drive without the use of a transfer case (drop box) in the driveline, said company officials. Even though it is built on the Chevrolet G3500 and G4500 series cutaway chassis, the  bus has a lot of features found only on the larger low-floor kneeling buses.

ARBOC Mobility buses are distributed throughout the U.S. and Canada by approximately 20 dealers.
