Brasco International to distribute solar trash compactor
Company will supply the Big Belly compactor, which is completely solar-powered and automatically and continuously compacts trash, holding five times as much as ordinary receptacles.
Detroit-based Brasco International has been selected as a certified distributor of the Big Belly solar trash compactor for the transit industry.
The Big Belly uses integrated recycling units that provide significant economic and environmental benefits. It is completely solar-powered and automatically and continuously compacts trash, holding five times as much as ordinary receptacles. Compaction reduces trash collection trips up to 80 percent – saving time, money, fuel, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
“Handling the distribution of the Big Belly unit reinforces our commitment to the environment and our green initiatives” says Steve Long, Brasco’s director of solar products. “We are committed to the use of sustainable materials and we offer solar powered LED lighting for our shelters in addition to distribution of the Big Belly.”
Brasco International designs and manufactures passenger shelters, smoking shelters, covered walkways, canopies and other outdoor protection shelters and has been in the transportation shelter business since 1993.
