Bus maintenance workshops on tap

A series of two-day workshops for bus maintenance technicians are scheduled over the next few months in five states. The workshops, sponsored by Halsey King & Associates, typically feature factory representatives and industry professionals covering best practices in inspection, preventive maintenance and repair. A recent workshop in Sacramento, Calif., drew more than 120 bus technicians from around the state and included sessions on electronics, electrical systems, air conditioning, tire re-treading, engines, transmissions and the new wheelchair lift standards. The next scheduled workshop is the Lone Star 2006, set for April 3-4 in Abilene, Texas, and April 6-7 in Austin. Following those seminars, the program moves to Lake Chelan, Wash., for the Evergreen Bus Maintenance Education Program, slated May 24-25. The program moves to Altoona, Pa., on June 15-16 for the Pennsylvania Bus Maintenance Education Program. It returns to California (Burbank) on June 19-20 for the CalTrans CalAct Vehicle Inspection, Maintenance and Repair Workshop.
