Chance Coach Inc., manufacturer of the American Heritage Streetcar and the low-floor Opus small and mid-size transit bus, announced today it will change its name to Optima Bus Corp. effective Feb. 1, 2003. "It is incumbent upon us to establish our own identity and our own name in the transit market based on our commitment to serve the small and mid-size bus market such as we are doing with our low-floor Opus," said Joe Gibson, Chance Coach vice president of sales and marketing. Optima Bus Corp. will retain its headquarters in Wichita, Kan. Chance Coach Inc., which became independent in 1998, had been a division of Chance Industries Inc. since 1976.
