Transportation consultant David Fierro launched a blog this week, entitled the "Fierro Report," (www.fierroreport.blogspot.com), which focuses on the U.S. transportation and will include entries on trends, initiatives, people and projects.

Fierro, who is a former newspaper and magazine editor who worked as a director of public information for the Florida Department of Transportation and assistant director of public affairs for the Virginia Department of Transportation, said the blog is designed for those who work in the transportation industry.  

"Everyone's quality of life is affected by the transportation system," said Fierro. "Whether it's a congested highway, sparse bus schedule or limited Metro system, it affects people on a personal level."
