METRO Magazine’s Public Transit Conference (PTC) is returning to the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX) in 2027, bringing transit professionals together for education, industry discussions, and networking.

GFX 2027 will take place in Atlanta in June, marking a new host city for the annual event. The Public Transit Conference will once again provide programming specifically geared toward public transit professionals as part of the larger GFX experience.

The Call for Papers is now open, allowing transit agency professionals and industry experts to help shape the PTC educational program by submitting session ideas for consideration.

METRO Wants to Hear From You

METRO is seeking presentations that address the issues, technologies, and operational challenges currently shaping public transportation.

Potential topics may include workforce recruitment and retention, zero-emission and alternative-fuel buses, safety and security, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, procurement, funding, maintenance, mobility programs, leadership, customer experience, and other issues affecting transit agencies.

Proposals should focus on practical information, lessons learned, case studies, and strategies that attendees can take back to their organizations.

PTC was last held in conjunction with GFX since its debut in Louisville, Ky., in 2024. The program featured discussions covering workforce development, alternative fuels, cybersecurity, autonomous vehicles, leadership, and transit operations.

Co-locating PTC with GFX gives transit attendees access to industry-focused programming while also providing opportunities to connect with the broader public fleet community.

GFX brings together public-sector fleet professionals for educational sessions, networking, and an exhibit hall featuring vehicles, equipment, technology, and other fleet solutions.

For PTC, the 2027 Call for Papers allows transit professionals to share their experiences and help shape conversations about the challenges and opportunities agencies face today.
