Daimler Buses North America will show two Orion VII buses and one special display bus in Booth#633 during the EXPO.

Declaring “We Build a Better Bus,” Orion will show firsthand the production process of its buses through a special bus display. Starting with the stainless steel frame all the way through to a finished bus, visitors will see the stages of the production process that shows how Orion builds a better bus. Beyond the display, Orion will showcase its testing and validation programs that prove a better built bus. This includes Orion’s success during recent testing at Altoona, Pa., where the Orion VII witnessed only seven minor unscheduled maintenance stops — the lowest in Altoona history.

Orion will also showcase two newly manufactured customer units for the City of Niagara Falls (Ontario) and the City of Baltimore. Both buses, just off the production line, host a variety of new features and options.

The Orion VII clean-diesel bus for Niagara Falls introduces new EMP air coolers with an electric fan. Other new optional items include a composite subfloor and LED interior lighting. This Orion VII is powered by a Cummins ISL 280-hp clean-diesel engine with a Voith DIWA 4-speed transmission.

One of the 21 Orion VII transit buses for the City of Baltimore’s “Charm City Circulator” will also be on display. This bus will feature  BRT styling, giving it a more modern, streamlined design. It is powered by a Cummins ISB 280 hp diesel-electric series hybrid bus. The bus is equipped with the new electric entry ramp with a 1:6 ratio that provides greater accessibility.

“Our newest and finest products will be out on exhibition demonstrating our technological advances in environmentally efficient vehicles that will turn heads and will usher in the future of transportation,” said Patrick Scully, chief commercial officer of Daimler Buses North America.
