El Camino Trailways, a San Francisco-based motorcoach service provider with operations in California and Nevada, has, for the second year in a row, been named one of the Top 100 Fastest Growing Private Companies by San Francisco Business Times in their annual survey of privately held companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The company received the award at a ceremony held on Oct. 20, 2010 in San Francisco.

This announcement follows closely on the heels of Oct. 18, 2010 announcement that the company’s growth has also achieved it prominent position on Inc. Magazine’s Top-5000 Fastest Growing Private Companies and Top-100 Fastest Growing Transportation Services Companies in the U.S. for Four Consecutive Years – 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

Founded in 1962, El Camino Trailways is one of the most well-known and established motorcoach operators in the San Francisco Bay Area, according to a company statement. The company was acquired by a Silicon Valley-based Investor Group in 2005 and since then has experienced extraordinary growth.

In 2008, El Camino acquired a Nevada-based motorcoach operator to help extend its reach into the Reno-Tahoe market and cover a broad foot-print from San Francisco Bay Area to Reno-Tahoe and the San Francisco – Sacramento – Reno-Tahoe corridor. This acquisition also enabled the company to add winter skiing /snowboarding charter services business to its broad array of charter and contract services it provides to schools, universities, government agencies, corporations, receptive tour operators and Student and Youth Travel Association operators.
