Cincinnati's Go Metro announced that a new on-demand public transit service is just around the corner in Hamilton County, according to the company's news release.
MetroNow!, for $2 each way, customers traveling within either of the two pilot zones can book their trip through the MetroNow! app or by phone, and a MetroNow! shuttle-style vehicle will arrive at or within a short walk from their location.
MetroNow! service will operate weekdays between 6 a.m.-8 p.m. and weekends between 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Metro will launch the first of its two MetroNow! pilot zones in Springdale and Sharonville on May 22.
The second pilot zone, in the Northgate area, will launch in mid-June. By the end of 2023, four additional zones are planned for roll-out
MetroNow! vehicles will be staged in the community for the public to visit and learn more about this new service during the following times:
Thursday, May 11, 12-2 p.m.: Hamilton County Public Library Groesbeck Branch
Tuesday, May 16, 12-2 p.m.: Hamilton County Public Library Sharonville Branch
Wednesday, May 17, 11:30 a.m. -1 p.m.: Healing Center
Thursday, May 25, 2-4 p.m.: Hamilton County Public Library Sharonville Branch
MetroNow! will provide accessible, on-demand, and localized mobility service, including connections to Metro's network of more than 40 fixed bus routes.
The service is a flexible, reservation-based transit service designed to close the first- and last-mile gaps and connect riders to employment for just $5 per day.
