Norfolk, Va.-based Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) will begin its regional express service in spring, 2008, targeting commuters. HRT asked the public to select a name and logo for the new service and The MAX, or Metro Area Express, was chosen.

The fleet for the service will consist of 29 40-foot buses. A metallic silver and blue design along with the new MAX logo will be displayed on the side of each bus. HRT is also planning to offer Wi-Fi service to riders.
It is expected that each city in Hampton Roads will receive the bus service, and that the MAX will operate from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. during the week.
