
Ill.’s Rockford Mass Transit District (RMTD) board of trustees announced Michael Stubbe as its new executive director. Stubbe will be replacing Rick McVinnie, who will be stepping down. McVinnie, who has served as executive director for 25 of his 42 years with RMTD, will be retiring in 2018. McVinnie will be working as an advisor to Stubbe and the board to assist with the transition until his upcoming retirement.
Stubbe joins RMTD with over 22 years of public transit experience working in transit operations management, safety, and transit planning. He has spent the last 11 years at the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) where he recently served as interim VP of safety, compliance, and risk management and was responsible for the overall management of the CTA’s safety program.
