The start-up company is headed by Steve Hirano, former editor and associate publisher of METRO Magazine and SCHOOL BUS FLEET. Hirano, who has been working on the start-up since last September, said his company, TransitTalent.com LLC, provides employers with an alternative to larger, generic job boards like Monster and CareerBuilder.
In addition to job listings, TransitTalent.com offers breaking news, commentary and “Buses, Trains and the Media,” Hirano’s blog about the influence of the media on public transportation. “The content is designed to attract not only active job seekers but passive candidates as well,” Hirano said.
