Merced County (Calif.) Transit (MCT) launched its redesigned website www.mercedthebus.com. The redesigned website is easy to navigate and allows transit riders to stay connected to MCT.
The new user-friendly website contains an interactive schedule finder, system map and points of interest database. Incorporating the latest technology, the site can be viewed on any phone or PDA with internet access and features up-to-date news and rider alerts.
In June, MCT successfully introduced a Twitter page featuring tweets with updates on schedule delays. MCT has over 100 followers to date. The website contains a link to help users connect with MCT on Twitter.
“Merced County Transit is always looking at the best way to connect with our patrons and provide them with quality service,” said Rod Ghearing, Transportation Manager. “Our new website is easy to use and gives Merced County Transit riders all the information they need to plan their commute. Our website and the Twitter feed allow us to efficiently get out important information to our valued customers.”
The redesign of the website coincides with the promotion of MCT’s new image and features the orange and blue color scheme that has become a staple of MCT’s look.
Merced County Transit, a joint power authority composed of the cities of Atwater, Dos Palos, Gustine, Livingston, Los Banos, and Merced, as well as the County of Merced, operates fixed-route services. The program is administered by the Merced County Department of Public Works-Transportation Division.
